Taitung and such
Taitung was great for the most part. I spend most of the second day going to bed and breakfasts, hotels, and motels, to see if they would trade work for a room. Sadly no dice, though many places were very nice and thought it was a good idea. My legs felt ok enough by that night that I went to the University's gymnastics gym and talked one of the coaches into letting me train. An entire gym all to myself, for free, and I could have stayed for about 5 hours if my legs had been better. As it was I had an amazing session and the coach told me whenever I was in town if the gym was free then I could train. I had to rush up to my train through a rainstorm, but all my stuff was intact and dry in my hammock/coccoon where I had left them. I slept fine in the storm but I awoke to realize the jungle felt it was time for me to move on as outside my mosquito net mosquitoes were swarming like I had never seen. They had laid siege, and to add insult to injury a monkey had taken a dump on the tree limb next to me, probably for attracting so many mosquitoes to the neighborhood. By some miracle I got everything packed up and taken out without too many bites. I had to run off the mountain to get away from the swarm though. Well, off to my next farm in Dulan.
